BBR GSXR RIm Conversion

I contacted Steve at Unclefester.com but I have not received an answer. Here is the question: Does the BBR conversion require that I provide the V-max rim and the GSXR Rim?. How much is the Conversion $, with 0, 1 or 2 of the rims? If anyone has the answers please let me know. Secondly, What is

The stock swingarm and rim will hold most 170s. I am working on bracing and notching my swingarm, actually bending the tubing tonight. Most wider V-max rims typically 17x5.5 or 17x6.0 have approximately 10mm offset to the right for shaft drive bikes. Paul, 85 V-max, VMOA 1141.

Just for the record, the stock V-max tire is 6 inches (150mm) not 7 inches (175mm) Some 170 series tires will fit in the stock swingarm with no modifications, some require the spacer swap. A 8 inch tire is 200mm and will not fit regardless. Damn metric system. Later, Paul 85 V-max, VMOA 1141.

V-max/GSXR Rim Conversion

One of my ongoing projects is to match up a spare V-max rim I have with a GSXR 17x 5.5 inch rim. I plan on building the rim like the BBR three spoke GSXR conversion. What GSXR rim will I need? GSXR 1100? What years will work? Why is the GSXR rim used for the conversion and no other sport bike

Aluminum Rear Breaking Arm

I am going to brace my swingarm. It seems simple if you have access to a pipe bender and welder. I would like to know it anyone has done this, what type of steel they used. I was expecting to use mild steel tubing (welded seam not seamless) with a 1.25 inch OD and .120 th. wall thickness. I

Thadd1969: The DOM steel tubing is Carbon 1020 Drawn Over Mandral welded tubing. This is a very cheap type of tubing. This is what I had origanally planned to use. If you could find out the thickness of the steel tubing used to brace the swingarm or plate to brace the frame, I would greatly

V-max paint Drag Bars

Thanks for the help. I talked to Color Rite today. My original color was Deep Scarlet. The price FYI is $79 per pint of the base and top, $48 for the clear. Total $206. This is the retail cost, dealers are obviously cheeper. KN makes all types of motorcycle handlebars. I purchased "drag bars"

I purchased the Borg-Warner switch at NAPA about a year ago for roughly $20. I also run Wetter Water with no Antifreeze but I live in South Florida. Bike always stays nice and cool. Later, Paul 85 V-max VMOA 1161.

V-max Original Paint

Does anyone know the company (name, address and/or phone number) in California(?) that has the paint mix sheets for the original 1985 candy red. I think the actual color was deep scarlet red metallic, I had the number a few years back and think the company was Color Rite(?) Thanks, Paul 85 V-max,
