Ken, your right. Using the horn button wired like that is a trick thats
older than me, but it works. It takes practice to master it.

I have one of the early hole shot shifters on my
85 max. It gets its signal off the netural
switch. Of course I don't have a neatural
indicator light. Fact is it works quite well.
Need to be real positive on shift into second
gear then the rest are a breeze.
Reversing the shift pattern helps
