Don's complaint was at 6K RPM ... and that is why IMHO the needle was

One last note, heat guns for use
Hello All
I am stationed here in Germany and I am getting ready to buy a V-MAX. The
dealer is local so the bike is in Europe specs. As far as I know I only
have to change the Speedo to turn the bike into US Specs. Does anyone know
different or where I could verify?
Thanks
Jeff
I guess a heat gun near a source of flamable liquid/explosive vapors could
be potentially dangerous, but I bet not as risky as an open flame. Happy

You're too tight, 7\8" sag is not enough. When I set my bike on the ground,
I get .875" static sag (no rider)
VMax321,
Because it is a '94 ... I will bet my $.50 on the pickup coil swinging

symptoms would be a fuel tank vent blockage which you could

Two things I DO NOT recommend doing...
1. Ride your Max from Toledo, OH to Chicago and back the next day with the
stock seat. (OUCH!)
2. Put your Kryptodisc disc brake lock on with the lock facing the inside

Hi guys,
I just found out, Joey Dunlop, the 48 year old, roadraciong

history, died in a motorcycle accident while qualifying for a race.
Sad, very sad day for the motorcycle world.

Don,
If you don't want to talk about it that's OK, but I would like to know how
you got the lock off..
My guess is that you removed the caliper and disk?
or is there another way..

Mark,
IMHO ... you need to sync the carbs . I would be surprised if that
does not resolve the problem. Otherwise, an exhaust leak, a lean pilot
mixture, or an air leak, (possibly a manifold o-ring or rubber spigot
boot), is responsible.

However, at my first stop of the day, I noticed there was quite a bit of oil

Hi,
Since it's on chrome, you have a lot more options than paint or powdercoat.
You can try various solvents. Depending on what you have around the house,
I'd try Citrasolve first, or another citrus based solvent degreaser, then
gasoline, then mineral spirits, then Goof Off, then MEK (methyl

The major difference between the European and the US Max is the fact that the first
come with no V-boost thus limiting the power to 100 HP.
I'm sure you can get a Max full power if you ask for it (it is worth the trouble).
In England they had the 100 HP version for several years, but then
