Check out UFO's site www.ufocycles.com

It's a completely different style of carburetor, flatside racing as opposed
to vacuum controlled downdraft.

Lots of hp

Rick

I ran my bike in 20 degree weather and didn't have any problems... Now
that I have a few more dollars in my motor I am going to winterize it
but normally I wouldn't worry about it unless it consistently goes below
zero...

P.S. I'm in Denver take care Phil

Re: (no subject) freezing coolant

2000-10-10 Thread Steve Morris, SMS

First winter I had my bike it had to be kept OUTSIDE... I used it (almost)
every day kept it clean covered etc.. never had a problem with freezing
fluids (just decaying alloy). Didn't having 'freezing' days in the UK
compared to the those in the States/Canada, but there were definitely times
when I wondered if parts of me were going to break off ;-)

 Question?

I live in Illinois and have a heated attached garage. I am considering
running my Max all year and plan to take a weekly ride regardless of the
weather , except for snow covered streets of course. My 2000 max is
stock
from the factory (except supertrapps) , what is the usual temp rating for
the factory radiator coolant. While I dont plan on riding at 20 degrees
below zero, I am interested in at what temp will my factory coolant start
freezing up? Kind of a different question than all the over heating
discussions huh? Appreciate any guidance. I will check it out using the
ole
floating balls , but has anyone else checked theirs?

 Thx.,

 Rick in Decatur Il.

re: ... no subject ...

Laszlo,
What air pressure are you running ??? I would suggest 40+ psi and avoid heavy
breaking with the front break at low speeds..this works for me.

i have a 93 max that seems to wear out front tires very quickly. i use
high quality tires (pirelli, metzler, dunlop) but they all start to
"cup" after about 4k miles. the front end has progressive springs,
furber fix, fork brace and new wheel bearings. I'm aware that all
front bike tires will cup, but it seems mine cup prematurely. any help
or suggestions would be appreciated

Wayne remove the two bolts, one on each side. You can get the spring off
easier then.

Jeff, seen it some where, but don't remember where. I think he built it
himself, maybe Mario remembers.
