I use NFS for my vpopmail directories, and haven't seen this.. I'm assuming you're using CDB files for auth; that means the DB files are all on NFS. If you don't have your root mapped properly, you won't be able to create files. Try using -maproot=0 (freebsd, others may be similar) in your

Hi, I'm using --enable-learn-passwords(netqmail 1.05 + vpopmail 5.4.0 + courier-imap 3.0.4), and I've noticed that if someone logs in initially with IMAP (via webmail), they are allowed to log in but the password does not get learned. Is this a known issue? Is there a way around this?

We have a very similar set up. We have a third machine as the MySQL master which doesnt directly interact as a mail server, but it makes the MySQL database triple-redundant without sacrificing performance. For load balancing/redundancy, we are using Foundry (http://www.foundrynetworks.com/)
