So, at this time we are waiting for the backend. Hopefully interleaced H264
comes soon.
why do you think so ? Somebody from ffmpeg-team want to implement PAFF support ?

Maybe not many guys are using dvb-s2 right now. Dunno how wide-spread
it is in Europe but in NA it's not common.
