Altair is looking into it. Are the visual anomalies specific to a
particular viewer? Do you, for instance, see them with both the Java
and the native viewer on a particular platform?

I start it with:
$ vglrun hm
In the end, the file hmopengl is executed which is native 64-bit code.
To reproduce deadlock, create a 1-dimensional, standard section, HYPER
BEAM, thinwalled box.
