Seth and Steve, thank you so much for your advice. We
still havent been able to connect to the Linux VNC
server from our Win client. When attempting to
connect, I specified the IP address of the Linux
server in our LAN

1. Do file/directory permissions on the Linux machine
matter?
Not that much. The vncserver script must be able to read the ~/.vnc/* files.
Once the Xvnc binary runs, it does not need to access anything.
2. Does the user of

Otherwise run the server, get properties and change the password.

Do they know your cable IP Address? If not you have to get it to them. You
might try whatismyip.com
Once they know the IP address and you have the server going they can connect
and enter the password you set.

Hello
I am running VNC over a 10/100 LAN. Everything is great except when
there is no connection on the VNC Server.
In this situation, VNC consume 30% load CPU every 4-5 second. I don't
understand why?

I'll update Fastpush and you can pick the bits out you

Hi
I'm interested to know if this kind of script can work on W2K
workstations in which the user who logs on a Windows domain has only
standard user rights and not power user or administrator rights.
I've heard that the logon scripts run under administrative priviledges,
but I've never tested

Hi All:
I have a couple of questions regarding the framebuffer.
1. VNC uses a virtual framebuffer implementation of the Xserver.
2. The rfbScreenInit() method initialises the vfb for the screen
3. How can i access the framebuffer from an external client program, must i
write an extension.

I have been using Xvnc for some time now, in inetd mode. It is running

Hello vnc-list,
Am
you should not have a problem with winproxy, if you are behind its firewall,
because it is and internet/lan firewall (it protects your network from the
outside, not your network from itself) the only problem i have is that i
have to request a screen refresh when i scroll, or else move the mouse
arghhh, msdos batch files are so ugly !
