in the menu are missing. Instead, gray boxes appear.

Possibly the easiest way to test it is to startup a
web-browser on the VNC server and point it to www.GoToMyVNC.com
and run the scan there. If it can connect from the outside,
then your firewall/router is setup correctly.

I need some help. I am trying to connect from behind a firewall using VNC
viewer to a VNC server behind a firewall. It works on the same subnet but
when I stick one machine on a different subnet it won't at all. I have
taken the firewalls out of the picture

so that the missing fonts won't be used. So, Maple uses standard fonts which
work perfectly.
