By P2P cable, I think you mean twisted pair cable. It should then be
supposed that your TCP/IP parameters are set correctly, right?
Have you tried ping from your 98 to your XP and what results? If you're
hostname, try using IP address.

Hi,
Update. After I connected once from my laptop, still running 3.3.6, to the
server running 4b4 the pcolor problem went away. It now does not happen
whether I connect from my PC running 4b4 or from my laptop running 3.3.6.
The server has been configured to treat all sessions as shared. Maybe
I found the solution to the mouse-over problem. I set the screen polling
options differently. Checked all options on lefrt, and ub\nchecked all on
right. Works great now.

Ok, just ignore me.
I had to install that specific library
apt-get install libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2

Is anyone aware of a way to increase the # of server names stored in the viewer drop
down? I use more than 10 on a regular basis and it annoys the heck out of me having to
re-type server names all the time rather than being able to select it from the
drop-down.
thanks!

What's the right way to exit a VNC session?
If I right click and select the exit command, it puts the server into a
non-working state when I reconnect.

Michael,
In the current release it's hard-coded at 10. An alternative is to save a
.vnc file for each machine, so that you just have a directory of those and
double-click on one to connect to that machine.
Cheers,
Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

Heya. Here's a way of thinking about it: your VNC Server is
getting its data from the SSH tunnel. So when you created the tunnel,
you used a command like this:

Bonno,
I thought that we had established that the strange colours were just due to
VNC staying in a low colour mode some of the time?
64 colour mode will tend to make the default Windows palette look a little
strange and overly pinky, as an unfortunate side-effect of the particular
