I don't use Unix version of VNC but I would think this is the way it should
be, just like X Windows and Terminal Services.
Maybe you could take a look at the DOC to see if you could change the startup

When you went to www.gotomyvnc.com, you should see an IP address. Does this
address correspond your router's address in public port? If no, there must be a
firewall/router somewhere between your router and Internet backbone routers,
I kind of figured as much. I'll do some more reading.
Thanks,

You might need to use Kaboodle in order to get through double-router.
Personally I don't use it but of course you could always write to this list and ask if
it's related to VNC:

I got it working from my home systems but not from my office. There is,
apparently, another router that I am going to have to deal with some way.
Port forwarding worked just fine from my home system.
Thanks for the help,

Hello,
The wan IP address that shows up when I go to www.gotomyvnc is different
than the one that the router shows so I guess that means that my ISP is
using another router. At my home, which works just fine, the wan IP that
shows up when I go to www.gotomyvnc is the same as the one that the

Hi all.
I have a handheld-computer (Psion Netbook) and want to see a WinXP-Screen

TIA

Do you how to make it fail quickly? (Please see below.) I'm
trying to find a way to get the viewer to fail quickly when the server

Yes you can a) add AllowProperties DWORD in registry to prevent editing and
b) change the default password key. The password is encrypted but I assume
you can enter the password you want on a PC and then copy it across.
This can all be done usually with REGEDT32 connecting to the remote
computer.
