Hi!

I have a desktop loaded with and running VNC server and was
able to connect via my wireless router when it was connected
to that same router.

I have now moved it to my daughter's home with the goal of
being able to remotely do routine maintenance. On that same
desktop I have setup Windows RemoteDesktop, I know that it
might seem redundant, as well as set it up to be an FTP
server.

We both subscribe to the same ISP. She is direct connected
to the cable modem. I am connected via a linksys wireless
router. I have opened the proper ports and setup port
forwarding as well.

I keep timing out on my attempts to connect via VNC. I read
in the FAQ that if you cannot ping you cannot connect and
that would make sense. I even tried to ping by extending the
TTL setting but still no response. My confusion lies with
the fact that I can connect via RemoteDesktop and using the
FTP function?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
