Hi,
I can only get x0vncserver running on my platform so I can't use Xvnc - has
anyone hacked vncserver to use x0vncserver instead of Xvnc ?
Thanks

Drew,
If the X server itself is configured to be accessible via VNC using the vnc.so
module then you don't need to run the x0vncserver as well.

I'm currently running realvnc 4.1.2 on remote SLES 8 and SLES 9 servers
running X.
On the SLES 8 systems, I have no problems connecting in remotely and starting
up x0vncserver.
On the SLES 9 systems, I'm getting the following error message:
sles9server:~ # DISPLAY=:0.0
sles9server:~ # /usr/bin
, (98), 5) = 5
9773 write(2, \n, 1) = 1
9773 write(2, ~ImageCleanup called\n, 21) = 21
The X server is running and listening on 5900, which is configured for VNC.
Do I not need to run x0vncserver and just connect using the vncviewer after
the password is created
Hello,
While trying to use the lastest version (4.1.2) of the free edition of VNC, I
stumbled on a bug in which 'x0vncserver' does not start, with the message:
select: Invalid argument (22)
The problem comes from the file 'x0vncserve.cxx' at line 342, where there is:

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm using Remote Desktop now as

The main loop in x0vncserver does not always initialize the timeout
variable. In this case, it may be that it contains invalid values and
causes select to fail. This has been reported to happen here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=172410
Here is the fix:

Kevin,
It's interesting that the kernels on the two computers differ.
Is there any reason why you'd rather use x0vncserver than the vnc.so module?

It looks like you're running an older version of x0vncserver from somewhere.
Can you try running the VNC 4.1.1 version?

Hi,
I am using Fedora4 and I am trying to install vnc for
my organization.
While, I got problem with x0vncserver parameters

Here, I am pasting what I did:

This might not be very useful, but here is what I do. I don't use X0vncserver,
but the x11vnc that installs the vnc.so XFree (or XOrg) module (by default
generally). There may be a graphical or other utility to configure this (SuSE
9.3 has YaST module - yay!), but I don't know enough about RH

Hello,
I'm using x0vncserver and I'd like to start it automatically

logging in. I have RedHat AS 4.0. I've tried to add the

the /etc/rc.d/rc.local script:

Only reason is because I don't have too much time to spare to build my Linux
machine and I just wanted a quick way to be able to work on it remotely via
vnc. So x0vncserver seems to be the best temporary solution.

Thanks

Hi @all,
does anybody have an compiled version of x0vncserver or x0rfbserver for
lynxOS 2.3.0 Operating system? Or does anybody has tips to remote control an
X server under this OS? Any help will be appreciated
Dear *,
the following simple patch (against the Debian vnc4 package) makes
x0vncserver behave more like vncserver in that it accepts the
-localhost option to bind the VNC port to localhost. This is nice to
have when tunneling a x0vncserver session over SSH.
Thanks,
Hein

As far as I remember, x0vncserver's default port isn't the same as
vncserver's. Perhaps that's the problem?
