I came across a LUGOD post dated January 9, 2002 from Richard Crawford. He wanted to listen to KXJZ but at the time that station only offered its stream in Windows Media. But if one goes to www.csus.edu/npr they now have options for Windows Media, Real Player and XMMS for Linux for both KXJZ

I forced the rpm cause i was following a How to and they said i should force it if it didnt install on the first try. I took a look at those directories you said: in the /var/log i found some XFree86 logs (all of them seemed to be the same for me but with diferent names. and they did not have

My guess is that you successfully installed the driver and now you just need to (re) configure X. Redhat comes with Xconfigurator (spelling?). I personally use xf86config. The _no screens_ error usually means you haven't specified a correct set up of horiz/vert refresh rates to make your

try: modprobe -a ntfs if that doesn't work, see if locate ntfs.o gives you anything. if not, you're going to have to compile the NTFS module which allows you to read, but not write to, an NTFS partition. you can compile the module without having to compile the whole kernel, so that's a

Nobody has said this yet AFAIK so I'll say it: The ntfs module/driver for Linux to read/write to NTFS is considered beta in some respects. Sure, reading is not really beta, but *writing* is still an issue: CONFIG_NTFS_RW If you say Y here, you will (maybe) be able to write to NTFS file

To Dave: No Xconfigurator , someone in another news told me to try that. XFree86 doesnt run at all (application that configures my video card) The /etc/X11/ has xf86config.backup and xf86config.old but nothing besides that (files with that name at least) I hope i learn how to set linux up with all
