[Voyage-linux] xbindkeys on Alix

My USB audio device attached to the Alix has an IR receiver that acts as a multimedia keyboard.  Was thinking of using xbindkeys to bind the multimedia keys to mpc commands to play / pause, skip tracks, mute etc. Has anyone does anything similar? Has anyone used xbindkeys with Voyage on the Alix
