Robbie,

Get the netinst CD image from:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/3.1_r2/i386/iso-cd/debian-31r2-i386-netinst.iso

If you build the debian kernel package, you can run dpkg -i <kernel_package.deb>. Make sure lilo points to correct kernel installed.

I don't understand why you so insist to 2.6.11. (I think you have some proprietary driver only work on 2.6.11?) If you want to stick to fedore 4's kernel, get their kernel source and apply voyage's patch. Build you own kernel, and copy the kernel image and modules to wrap. Make adjustment to lilo.conf and re-run lilo.

Forget to tell you that kernel config is in http://www.voyage.hk/download/kernel_config/. Pick the latest 2.6.11 one.

Punky

Hi, thank you very much for the reply. very awesome. Can you point me to a place where i can get a 2.6.11 debian or a 2.6.15 debian iso? Linuxiso.com has a debian link but found out in the middle of the install that its 2.4 based. Can a Voyage linux distro for the wrap be downgraded to 2.6.11 and if so, how? Thanks alot for the quick answer. Robbie

Hi Robbie,

After 0.2 release, I don't keep 2.6.11 kernel any more as they are not
officially released.

You will need to get the debian kernel from archive:
http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2005/06/18/debian/pool/main/k/kernel-source-2.6.11/
http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2005/06/18/debian/pool/main/k/kernel-source-2.6.11/kernel-source-2.6.11_2.6.11-7_all.deb
and apply the patch from:
http://www.voyage.hk/download/kernel_patch/2.6/kernel-patch-2.6.11-voyage_2.0-5.patch.gz

build it the debian way.

Voyage linux is debian based, you should setup a debian linux for
development work. This save you a lot of time. My debian for development
work is run under user-mode-linux. And I think VMWare is also a good choice.

Here are some useful pointers for you:

also read the "FAQ " and "How do I" sections in the wiki.

Hi,

Do you have a version of voyage linux using the 2.6.11 kernel I can
install to a wrap board? I have a compiled program that uses that kernel.

I cannot get the version of voyage I have now (2.6.15) to compile a
kernel. I downloaded all the necessary packages...make, gcc, config,
sources, etc...

The main problem is in the makefiles...it cannot find some files to do
the includes...these files exist, just not where the makefile can find
them and not sure where they are supposed to be...types.h for example.

I would be happy to share any files if you can take a look or give me
a voyage linux distro with 2.6.11 on it. (Same as fedora core 4). Thanks.
