At least I suspect it is smbfs that is causing the issue.
I found this article on the wiki which indicates it could be:

I'm not sure the article applies to smbfs as opposed to the full samba
package and it is out of

I'm not sure the article applies to smbfs as opposed to the full samba
package and it is out of date. Is adding the samba directories
The Alix 2d2 schematic shows a 5V linear regulator directly after the
DC input jack. If you feed the Alix with a 15V external supply, this
regulator probably dissipates as much as 2-3 Watts as heat
There is a separate supply for the USB power that looks like a DC - DC
converter. It will be more

The Ayre QB-9 does require USB power. I believe it powers the Asynch

Thanks for the correction Nick.
A bit surprising given the cost of the Ayre. I guess
Hi,
Long time user of the Alix 2d2 plus Voyage. NOT a linux expert,
however. It seems like I have to relearn everything each time I update
Voyage.
I'm having a new and odd issue. During boot up of the Alix, the volume
level indicated on the display of my USB attached sound device

Hi Punky,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Is this file stored in the ram file system or do I need to remountrw?

My USB audio device attached to the Alix has an IR receiver that acts
as a multimedia keyboard. Was thinking of using xbindkeys to bind
the multimedia keys to mpc commands to play / pause, skip tracks, mute
etc.
Has anyone does anything similar?
Has anyone used xbindkeys with Voyage on the Alix
Trying to install the experimental Hiface driver and I receive Unknown
symbol in module error when running insmod.
I understand this is experimental and may not work, but I'm not sure I'm
installing correctly. I've used voyage for a few years, but I seldom
stray beyond the standard set up.
Hi Andy,
I'm having a similar issue since I upgraded to 0.9.x
My previous set up with 0.7.x did not have this issue.
It's a split second drop once in a while. I couldn't discover the
reason why this occurs.

Hi Andy,
I'm using the Audiophilleo 1 with the Alix 2D2. Music data is stored
on an HP Microserver running OpenIndiana with ZFS. I'm using nfs as
the network file sharing protocol.
There is nothing additional running on either the Alix or Microserver
beyond that needed to support mpd, which is
Hi Punky,
I have been running Voyage MPD 0.9.5 on an Alix 2D2 for several days
and have experienced no issues. The voyage.update script is fixed
and the now included hiface usb driver works with no issues I have
found.
Top effort.
Thank you!
Cheers

Does anyone have the Hiface driver running on Voyage Mubox?
By this I mean snd-usb-hiface or snd-usb-asyncaudio.
I believe the reason I am not finding it is that Mubox uses an older
kernel prior to support being added.
