Running on HP UX 9.05 and using Tcl/Tk 8.0, I do _NOT_ get that behavior.
In fact, everything behaves just as it does on Solaris 2.4.

My only concern about the "splitting lists" view of eval is that will
probably lead one to miss some of the powerful things you can do with it,
such as in combination with upvar and uplevel.
