I've done screenshots done at 400 x 300, which link to an enlargement
at 800 x 600. That's not a rule, if you have other ideas, but you
might take account of the conistency aspect.

When I've inserted a screenshot in a page, I've also insert a page
containing the enlarged screenshot. This way, people who click on
screenshots land in a site page with the graphic, rather than a
browser window with no nice presentation.
It gives a higher-quality UX in my very humble
P.S. For an example, click on the screenshot in any page in the
Features section.
