To All,
Over past I have seen antenna mounts on a number of H20 towers - Tank type -
constructed by WISP's. Does anyone have pictures? Drawings, etc. I have a
meeting with a local township to place our facilities on their water tower. And
I need to write a proposal for the board.
If you all

I think that is where I will be moving my portfolio to. I'll just go

$3B, likely more.

The antennas I have on water towers are attached by beam clamps. I will use a
1 1/2 piece of EMT pipe, drill a hole through the pipe and connect the beam
clamp to it with a bolt long enough to go through the pipe. this way nothing is
welded or drilled into the water tower. If for some reason we
Sprint/Nextel lost like 6 million subscribers over the past 2 years.
Yeah... Someone from that company would have been my first choice too. Couldn't
they find any old Winstar or Geotek execs?

I was going to suggest that clear wire would be the biggest winner in
this stimulus package.
But I didn't want to throw a wet towel at anyone.
We still have to take a shot at it and get something.

This could actually be advantageous for us. By watching NTIA's every
move and publicizing any favoritism, we could come out with a large
share of the funds that we may have ended up with if we didn't have an
possible conflict of interest issue to be highlighting.

Are there firewall rules that can be instated at the core router (we are
using Powercode w/ imagestream rebel router) that will detect and block
malicious traffic so that it does not bring the network down? What does
everyone generally do to prevent this sort of problem.
If from your head end out to the WAN you don't have the latency jumps then
either your core router does not see the packets or you have more bandwidth
upstream then you do to your customers.

Right, I'm routing already to my customers. I just can't seem to
identify where the flood of traffic is coming from. My guess is that
someone is using some sort of p2p and opening gazillions of connections
for either upload or download traffic or someone has a virus that is
flooding the network
Patrick,
Have you called support?
Problem with DOS is that it has to be stopped at the next router up. You
can certainly block it from traversing the router, either in or out.

You really need to find out exactly WHAT the problematic traffic is
before you worry about how to best block it. Hook up a machine with
Wireshark to a tap or a mirrored switch port that is seeing the
offending traffic. If you can't immediately identify the problem traffic
by looking at the
Like Patrick's idea with a PC and wireshark I would suggest using a Mikrotik
box with two NICs acting as a switch - you can capture all the traffic that
way (analyze with WireShark of course).
I know IS has a solution and I am sure there are others but I am only
capable of using Cisco switches
Exactly. My Mikrotik firewall showed me the offender. To be fair, the AP my

If the problem shows up as a ping storm, you could try something like the
following, but to be really effective it needs to be running near the edge
of your network (e.g. the client AP):
iptables -N lmticmp
iptables -F lmticmp
iptables -A lmticmp -j ACCEPT -s ! 192.168.0.0/16

Speaking of this, what is an average pps on a normal connection. When is it
considered abnormal. I would like to create some MT rules to detect and
