Quick questions (and hopefully quick answers :) ) about this subject:
Let's say a user has been using SECRET_KEY since v2.5, and has not
changed that when 2.6 came. So, he doesn't have AUTH_KEY,
SECURE_AUTH_KEY nor LOGGED_IN_KEY in his wp-config.php, but he does

The existing cookies will become invalid, so the user will have to re-login.
Thanks a lot for those clear answers, they validate what I understood
already, but I wanted to be sure (writing a book can make you nitpicky

If so, how can they be best avoided (apart from

You can ameliorate your nightmares with a plugin [1] until it's part of
core.

The version info banner in the newly-released 2.6.5 version seems to be
saying that you are using a development version and is linking off to
the svn. Is this right?

No, that's not right, 2.6.5 is a branch release not a trunk
(development) release and should update from the branch not SVN. Someone
other than I should be addressing this though. Anyone?

This also could be the reason that the WordPress Automatic Upgrades
plugin isn't showing an alert about a new version being available (I'm
checking a client's 2.6.3 site at the moment). WAUP never fails to show
an alert. I'm surprised someone more in the know isn't coming back on
this.

Hmm, this is weird (or perhaps not). I downloaded the changed files from

development Version. Then copied the same files to my local install and
the local Dashboard doesn't say Development Version. Just to be clear, I

I see the DB Schema was changed again with the latest trunk build. I thought
that beta 3 meant that a RC1 release was close.
Looking forward to the final build :-)

Why is there an active Delete link next to the admin account on the
Users page?
Kim
ps/ I haven't clicked it as I don't want to deal with what would happen
if it actually does delete the only account in this install.

The DB changes were just setting default options, Sometimes people forget
to add the add_option() to the DB schema when they add options to core.. :)

I got a half a good mind to just take beta 3, edit the version file to make
it say RC 1 and send it to people who ask, just to mess with 'em, and then
sit back and laugh when the real RC1 comes out. ;-P

Have noticed two issues with image uploading in beta 3. Not earthshaking,
