Hey everyone,
I just had a kind of lame question. In the general settings for WP it says
you have to update for DST yourself and it will be fixed in a future
release. As far as I can remember it has been like that for ages was
wondering if we were any nearer to getting it done automatically. :P

Lol. I don't know why I didn't check for a plugin. :P I just always figured
it would be combined into the core at some point.
Thanks for that. :)

This is a different subject but I figured I'd add it here instead of making
a new email... Call it lazyness. :P
I'm using 2.8-bleeding everytime I add a link in the blogroll it adds
another ?added=true to the url. So after adding a few links you end up with
a massive URL like this:

Still needs some prettification, but it does work. :)
As long as it works. That's the main thing. :)

It's not in core because it requires PHP 5, and core currently has a
requirement of PHP 4
Though it probably could be put in as a conditional that checks
against the PHP version and automates it *if* it can.

The patch I created for ticket #3962 does have a conditional check for

So I'm not exactly up to speed with how tickets, trac and all that stuff
works, but why hasn't that patch been added to the main WP core? Is it
because it requires PHP 5? Forgive me if I'm being a bit thick. It happens

Well, it's a first draft, for one thing. It needs some testing by
other people (and especially on several hosting platforms and PHP
versions and such, for this one), feedback, maybe some redesign, etc.
Code development is a process. It doesn't get moved into core until

Yeah, I realise about the process etc. I just figured that it might have
already been tested since it seemed to have been something in development
for quite a while. I guess it's up to us to test it though. So I'm off to
test it. :P

Changeset 10518 bumped the version at 1:25pm ET. Not sure if there's a post
about it though.

I have searched around and found nothing... I was wondering if anyone on the
list has ever heard of a plugin for post templates, like the page templates
but for posts instead?
It's something I'm sure someone has asked before but I can't seem to find
any mention of it. :(
Paul.
It seems that many people join the list just to find out where to
download the nightly builds, because
http://wordpress.org/download/nightly/ tells them to do that.
So we end up getting this question a LOT (wasting the time of those of
us who are on the list for the long haul).
So how about
