Nope, it's not really a theme issue, rather something with TinyMCE.

You can change the HTML font in themes, however (I had to because it looked
horrific on my crappy old Windows NT/IE 8 PC, don't judge me, it's work's).
Double check your theme isn't doing that? Unless you're on a 201x theme.

Yes, this bit wasn't supposed to be there yet. Was testing a better
default font setting for the editor, it needs to work well in all
languages (RTL, etc.).
Opened http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/20186 for that.
