Just one idea...  Run the page through the W3C validator and fix 
any errors.  Not trying to be a wise-guy, but if you feed the 
browser broken (x)HTML, the result is unpredictable.

The problem may not disappear if the page validates, but it 
should be the first step in trying to find the cause of the problem.
