Hello Europe,
not even two days until EYUCup kicks off. 17 youth national teams battle it
out, in 3 divisions, in lovely Debrecen/Hungary.
This year sees a special situation, with both an EYUC and EYUCup being held for
junors. Why?Because we see many new Ultimate junior activities in the east of
Europe, but many of those teams are not yet ready to travel very long distances
and attend a week long event, mainly for cost reasons.
While the "official" title is given at Veenendaal / Netherlands in August,
EYUCup is designed to have a very similar set up and feeling, same rules,
scorekeepers and even a 5 Ultimate shop and much more. Also, the "Train the
Trainer" clinic will be held there. All youth national teams are allowed to
choose which event to attend, or even go to both. Several teams take advantage
of this, using EYUCup as a prep event for EYUC.
So, follow the excitement of many brand new national teams, eg whem Ukraine and
Romania juniors battle it out. In U17, there is also a team Europe competing,
similar to Currier islands at WCBU, for those kids who have no own national
team.
