Commit notifications for specs

Hi, I've asked for the creation of a git repository to host all fd.o specs (will make things much easier). I think it'd make sense to send commit notifications to this list since it will help people track the progress and the changes. What do people think? An obvious alternative is to create a

Open application binary interface

This topic is may a bit OT: Why there is no open application binary interface? I could use any binary on any operating system which support this standard. In the moment I can't use my linux executables on Solaris or FreeBSD and I can't use the Solaris kernel for Ubuntu without using solaris
