Hi,
I noticed that when my mouse cursor is over the scrollbar of xterm,
shift-pgup does not scroll back the xterm window, but instead inserts
ESC[5;2~ in the terminal.
Is this intended behaviour (to make it possible to pass shift-pgup to
applications in the window perhaps?). If so, can I turn it
I try to startx.
the message is the folloowing:

Dear Gurus,
I am having problem on loading X Server after my disk was full. I
couldnt fix the problem even after freeing the space. I am new to linux so dont know how re-install (I tried to
re-configure X via X Configuration but failed L).
Please help me.
Warm Regards,
what are my chances of watching movies via TV out with a ATI Radeon7200
without installing Gatos (doesn't work well with my Slackware8.1 install)?
Heard somewhere it was possible with mplayer on console with vesa, am about to
try. I'd like better if I could operate from within X, tho.

I let this app run until the OOM handler killed it. As is,
this app has a memory leak. In your render loop you are not
clearing out your event queue. Your XCopyArea is generating
NoExpose events so eventually the client's event queue grows
to the point where the kernel has to kill it.

I just installed linux, and the setup crashed while configuring X. My config
and logs are attached; I'm not a linux native, and I have no idea what is
wrong with them. I've downloaded the drivers for the Radeon 9000 from

Well, It's from a Redhat 8 system but here it is. I'm running a dual
head n a Radeon 9000 works well. Well, almost, has some problems when I
drag stuff drom one screen to another. Make sure you get the screen
numbers defined right as well as the PCI location. hope this helps.

I have been searching through the archives the past few days, and

Run glxinfo and check OpenGL renderer string, indirect rendering is bad.
Read /var/log/XFree86.0.log and make sure there are no errors (EE)
When I try to restart X 4.3 my computer freezes completely after the
screen goes blank. Something about X is not shutting down properly. I
use Gnome 2.2, but it can't be that because this also occured when using
twm as the window manager. What could cause X to behave this way?
I recently updated my linux kernel from 2.4.18 to 2.4.20. The problem
is that I now cannot startx without X bailing out and giving me a
cryptic error message. Could someone give me an idea what this log I've
attached is telling me?
Thanks,
