AFAIK except for NVIDIA FX and ahead and ATI's advanced cards
extended desktop(2 monitor support) is not provided by any Video card. SO
I guess It might be missing in your card.

AFAIK dual monitor isn't supported under GNU/Linux, I couldn't have it with my
old Intel 855GM

Infact I am running TwinView on my Redhat 9, with Nvidia FX 5600.
So the support does exist, But your graphics card Driver has to exploit
it. Nvidia's driver do it. Not sure if default driver does it.
