[XFree86] startx problems

Hello, I am new to freeBSD and unix (but I am a consultant with 15 Years experience in Dos and Windows)

I am working on a project to remove an exchange server and install send mail and samba on FreeBSD - but I'm stuck at the start of the process.

I have been using the book "FreeBSD unleashed" buy Michael Urban


My problem is after install, I login as root, and type startx and I get the following errors. (I have installed the software at least 8 times with different options)

Release date 7 Sept 2002
(EE) Unable to locate/open config file
(EE) Error from xf86handleconfigfile()

Fatal server error no screens found

log /var/log/xfree86.0.log

(I don't know how to get the log file ot look at it either - Sorry)
