I set up suse 10.2 on an X64 box. To use the latest ATI drivers, X86free
is required. The Xfree86 installation went well. However, when I boot
the PC, I no longer get the KDE environment. Rather, I get a simple
Xwindows interface. Any suggestions?

can someone give me a hand on finding out how to configure

all I was able to find on the net was about ati rage 128
Its working now cause I am using the vga drivers but its very low res.

could have also been a Mandrake problem as they'd been experimenting
with gdm in /etc/inittab --- whatever the cause, the behaviour is
gone now with Mandrake 9.1 and XFree86 4.3.0

Any ideas how I can gather more diagnostics on this? It's on a
Dell L700cxe that had been running an up-to-date Mandrake 9.0, but
