Then it probably is a Xv problem, the Xv images are not put into the
framebuffer but overlaid on top by the video card.
You might try, depending on the application you use,
When I start XFree without Xv, the videos are displayed correctly!
Thanks. Unfortunately the quality suffers... Is there any possibility to
configure Xv, so that it works on my system? Or which other extensions
would you recomment? Are Dga, fbdev or directfb good alternatives?

I'm using an embedded Pc with CT 69000 Graphics. When I'm trying to
play a Avi/Divx file with kaboodle there is an pink vertical stripe
quite in the middle of the picture. While left of this stripe there are
pink pixels flickering (snowy), the right side is totally perfect. I get

I jumped into the upgrade with both feet without taking the
time to really understand what I was doing and now cant seem to get to
my Gnome desktop. I am new to Linux and havent quite got the
