[XFree86] XFree86 resolution problem (solved)

hi all, I had compiled Xfree86 configured with XFree86 -configure edited XF86Config to my likings when running the server, the only available resolution was 640x480 in the log files, the problem appeared to be the horizontal sync and the vertical refresh rates that were not set. solution to

Hi, I am using a compaque presario machine p4, intel MB, 256MB RAM. I dual boot b/w win and rh linux 9.0. windows gives maximum resolution (1024 x 768) at 24 bits, once the disaplay driver is provided. but, Redhat doesnt seem to give the needed resolution, only (800x600 max), that too with
