Dear all, I still have the problem on making the xserver run at 1024x768 with thousands of colors. At 1024x768 it only runs at 256 colors, when I try to select thousands of colors and restart the xserver, the display becames just a small screen 600x480 in the middle of the monitor.
DETAILS: +Laptop (from BIOS information) - Intel Celeron 2.4GHz - Dell Inspiron 1100 - Video Controller Intel 845GL - UMA Video Memory: 1MB - Panel type: 14" XGA +Driver for the video device: - driver i810 +Attempts -I tried to download another driver from DELL page but it was already installed (dripkg-1.0-4.i386.rpm). The command was rpm -Uvf <archive>.rpm -I also tried to modify the monitor Horizontal and Vertical Refresh rate by random numbers but nothing worked and I gave up. If someone has already dealt with such problems, please let me know.
