Hi, i tried to find my fonts path using xset utility. but it says unable to open the display. i had export the path as: export DISPLAY=:0. .but then also i'm getting the same error . Any suggestions for this ? saravanan.

Mr Saminath, I could not find teh 'xfs' executable in my xc directory. There is a folder in /buildroot/build_mipsel/xc-011010/programs/xfs but no executables are present. Is there any file wherein i should enable this ? saravanan.

Hi I fixed the problem, but it wasnt very simple. What I had to do, is realize, that in the font folders every fonts.scale file was empty. I had to copy the fonts.dir file over the fonts.scale and it was a half solution already. After that I had to remove a few lines from the

Did you enable the freetype extension in XF86Config? I'm running slack 8.1+, 9.0 and 9.1 without problems with TTF fonts. The only things I noticed where: 1) KDE still sux ( since the beginning ) with fonts problems; and 2) The GIMP doesn't work with those fonts. That's the most sad of the
