Here is some data from x11perf -shmput500 for comparison:
XFree86 4.3.0:
Dual Athlon 1800, AIW Radeon 7500 (QW)520/sec
Pentium III 700mhz AIW Radeon (QD)109/sec
XFree86 4.2.0:
Pentium III 500mhz Mobility P (Rage Pro) 228/sec
So there is still a problem with Pentium

I don't know what your problem is. But something is happening when you load
the ddc module. Both of the logs that you sent yesterday ended at that
point. You may want to look into what is happening with the DDC module, you
might want to try not loading it and see what happens. Or maybe not.
