Solaris 2.5.1 is a very old release - it only had X11R5, while almost everything these days assumes X11R6 or newer. If you must run under Solaris 2.5.1, your best bet is compiling a complete set of X11 libraries and installing them in /usr/X11R6 - then using those only for apps that require
