Hello!

I had been using RedHat Linux (7.0) before I installed RedHat Linux (8.0) which contains kernel (2.4.18), Xfree86 (4.2.0), GNOME (2.0), KDE (3.0.3), etc. During this new installation, I deferred X configuration to later. Now I cannot configure it because 'bash' does not know commands like Xconfigurator or XF86Setup although I did install Xfree86 files and dependencies. Moreover, when I want to configure it with Setup, the new version of Setup does not support X configuration and sound card configuration. ( similarly bash does not know 'sndconfig' command and I don’t know what to do). I have no XF86Config file so I can not run X with 'startx' because it is "Unable to locate/open config file" and there is an "error from xf86HandleConfigFile()".

I used to install RedHat Linux(7.0) under graphic mode but now I must install its version 8.0 under text mode. I have a Trident graphic card (9660   1Mb) and a monitor   CTX 1451C   30-50KHz   and  60Hz (1024x768). I could work with them in GNOME & KDE when I had RedHat Linux (7.0). I will be very grateful if you guide me to configure X.
