[XFree86] Why Was SuperProbe Removed?

Why was the debugging tool, SuperProbe, removed as of version 4.2.0?

This was an excellent debugging and revealing tool to assist with X
configuration.

Was a replacement command with similar output substituted?

Because keeping it up-to-date became unmanageable.

 This was an excellent debugging and revealing tool to assist with X
 configuration.

In its time, yes.  But this aspect is now largely addressed by `X
-configure`.

 Was a replacement command with similar output substituted?

Yes, the X server itself.  Try `X -probe`.  And, of course, -probeonly
still works.
