After reading your e-mail, Marc, I instantly rebooted from Win98 (where I'm reading this info) to Mandrake Linux's Failsafe. I logged in a root, edited my XF86Config-4 file and commented out the PCIbus line. I closed that down, and followed your instructions for replacing the libpcidata.a file
