This is not XFree86 4.3. This is the output of an old XFree86 3.x server (the old XF86_SVGA server). It's also not entirely clear that the server isn't running properly. If you can move the cursor around, it probably is and the window manager just isn't starting. Can you run

You are running the nv driver that came with XFree86 but you have the GLX from NVIDIA's binary drivers installed. Remove NVIDIA's GLX (/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.so) so that the GLX that comes with XFree86 can get used. Mark. On Thu, 3 Jul 2003, raghavan

Hi all, Sorry I forgot to mention I'm on Mac OSX. Using an iBook. I'm having a go at installing version 4.3 now, the version of XFree86 I had sort of appeard when I installed OpenOffice, so I suspect it made a mess of it, seeing as that didn't work either. I'll let you know what happens.
