Good morning - back again! Replacing OSTYPE with BSDOS gives the same compilation error I had first. I replaces the source tree with a fresh one from the archive and did a setenv OSTYPE Darwin which is TCSH's export notation. After this XMail is compiled without any errors from the unmodified
