Hi All! I am glad to report that in Gentoo's portage tree there are a working ebuild for XMail 1-16. This ebuild is now masked as testing, so you should run it by accepting testing ebuilds or by pointing emerge procedure directly to this file (/usr/portage/net-mail/xmail/xmail-1.16.ebuild).
