Simply don't consider this MS document as how Microsoft implemented it.
It's a support doc and then can have some typo.
In this doc you can see two different RCPT TO samples syntaxes :

---------------------
RCPT TO: u...@domain.com
---------------------

Then at end of doc
---------------------
RCPT TO:u...@site.domain.com notify=success,failure
---------------------

One with space, the other without. So simply a typo :)

I can confirm that MS products (Exchange server and all MS MUA Outlook
Express, Outlook at least) are compliant at least ( :) ) on Smtp MAIL FROM
and RCPT TO commands RFC syntax :)
