This looks like a threading problem to me.
Add the following line to your XMail startup script, usually located in

Hi Davide,
is there a chance to see SMTP dialog filter hooks in the next release?
This would make the filtering engine more flexible:
You could check the RCPT_TO and act before the message is accepted.
E.g. checking a forwarding target server, if the user exists there,
before accepting and forwar
That's the point!
Furthermore a scripter could implement bandwidth throttling by counting incoming SMTP
connections during a certain timeframe.
Exceeding connections could get a 'try again later' result code. Such hooks would make
things flexible to the max.

My experience from http://xmailforum.homelinux.net tells me, that this=20
is the No.1 error. This information is simply overseen in the manual,
even
if you read it. Instead of "pls configure my server", admins get tons of
bouncing SPAM when they run an open relay, which is more critical ...
--Hara
IMHO it would make sense to split these things off the manual into a
small
seperate IMPORTANT.txt or READ_THIS_FIRST.txt file. There is too many
info to
digest. Most people fly thru the manual, do some trial and error and
when port 25 is up they think that their server is configured properly

Maybe you both can agree in some kind of simple plugin interface on
source code level, which makes it easy to complile XMail with or without
this or that 3rd party plugin. This would make code maintenance and
upgrading for all sides secure and easy. This would mean another boost
of flexibility, e.g
Better hunt the Readme.doc - it hides from hunters in the bin folder ;))

Amazing! Would be nice to see this merged into 1.19 final.

Hi,
trying to compile on Mac OSX Panther (with latest updates applied)=20
results in this:
$ set OSTYPE=3DDarwin
$ make -f Makrefile.bsd
g++ -o MkMachDep MkMachDep.o -lkvm -lcrypt -pthread -lc_r
g++ unrecogniced option '-pthread'
ld: can't locate file for -lcrypt
make: *** [MkMachDep] Error 1

As long as .NET is running to 100% on other platforms, this will be no
good choice for a multi platform mailserver.

One hint about mem usage:
On some shells, the variable content needs to be quoted:
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL="2.4.1" instead of LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
To be sure that this is recogniced globally under your shell,
you should put it into /etc/profiles, not into the XMail startup script.

Good morning - back again!
Replacing OSTYPE with BSDOS gives the same compilation error I had
first.
I replaces the source tree with a fresh one from the archive and did a
setenv OSTYPE Darwin
which is TCSH's export notation.
After this XMail is compiled without any errors from the unmodified

NOPe .. I'm running OSX 10.3.3 (Panther) with Darwin Kernel 7.3.0 on a
PPC CPU (IMAC).
If we manage to solve the last issues on my machine, we should be ready
for any Darwin platform :-)
