Hallo,
I don't know if I am in the right place, if not please tell me where I should ask for
help.
I use Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529.
I connect with an X-Terminal on a RedHat6.3-Server and sometimes

Does XFree86 4.2 support the DVI port on the Matrox
G550 (WITHOUT any extra drivers from matrox!)?
Thanks in advance,

My command is x11perf -getimage500 , and under the resolution 640x480
But in other resolution like 800x600 or 1024x768, it will be fine.
Can anyone tell me what this option does ?

Hi!
I use:
Linux 2.4.19 (with the DRM modules downloaded from http://dri.sourceforge.net)
Ati Rage 128 Pro
XFree86 4.2.0
KDE 3.0.2
When I boot the PC it starts with the X and the kdm login window. The problem
is that the window is light yellow instead of gray. If I restart the X server
the spaces between Screen and the number

Screen0 good

(1) Can you download the 4.2.99.1 version of X from somewhere or do I have to pull
it from CVS?
(2) Has someone gotten more then 640x480 out of the i845 with the vesa
driver?
(3) If I compile the CVS version of the driver will I be able to
insert in into my current installation
Hi:
How can XFree86 4.2 for Solaris 5.8 support the video port on the i830m
chipset. What is currently necessary beyond the modules in the download
area. ie. how is agp gart and the kernel module created or are they
available?
thanks and regards

Hi,
I am thinking about getting a Radeon 8500LE 128MB and I was wondering
what the current status of the drivers are.
I saw that support for it is included in 4.2.0, although there is no
page specifically for its driver that I can find. I am mostly concerned
with 2D, since for 3D I will mostly

x11perf is sloppy. It is a protocol violation to grab an image
from a window when that window is not

Actually, turns out it changes what ever CorePointer is. Ideally then,
xset would change the speed on all the devices.

To me the application of write_mem_barrier() to drivers like the
nv driver seems almost haphazard. Can someone explain what the
criteria is for placing these?
Mark.
PS. I assume that on powerpc this is hooked up to eieio?

Hello
I'm having trouble running X on an embedded computer that uses an Intel
815 graphics chip. I've tried:
- using a plain Red Hat 7.2 install
- upgrading the X Server in the 7.2 install to 4.2.0
- doing a clean RedHat 7.3 install
(all of the above were using the stock kernel from the
Hi guys
I have an issue with X.
Sometime back, while I was surfing, my linux hung and
after I gave it a hard boot, startx is not starting
the X. Here is the error I am getting. Any ideas?
Hope I am mailing to an appropriate list.

Yes! That fixes the problem just as nicely (perhaps better; even with the
nanosleep it would happen very rarely) and seems a lot less like a kludge.
Here is (a version of the) patch:

+++ xv.cWed Aug 14 22:53:14 2002
Auggh!!! When will I stop *doing* that???
That was, of course, keeping up my tradition, the wrong version of the correct
patch.
This one has some obvious improvements. For example, it compiles correctly
