support) and now I can't center the screen. I copied my X3 modelines

for DRI is not registering the /dev/dri/card0 device like it should

I have an Ati Rage 128 installed with FreeBsd. When FreeBsd has only
been in `Textmode' the shutdown with poweroff works. Once Xfree86
had been activated the PC doesn't poweroff when shut down.
Now I've also tried a Mandrake from a Linux magazine. With Mandrake
poweroff is no problem.

My XFree86 seems to start OK, but when the screen mode is set, it
doesn't do anything more (i.e. using nvidia drivers I get the nvidia logo
and nothing more occurs). The XFree86.0.log seems to be right.
Anyone knows wath happen after the Xfree86 initialization?

Days after days, I can see the memory used by X grows from 25Mb to 65
Mb,(given by the column SIZE with the top command), so I guess X has a
memory leak. What are your methods to find them ?
Setting:
XFree 4.2.0 on a mandrake 8.2
X server : ATI rage moobilty

every once in a while (30 sec - 60 sec), the LCD screen would flickers.
Driver is ati on Dell server.
Any pointer most welcomed.
