It has been my experience that the wheel will not work with the M-S48A.
While the M-S48 was fine the 'A' variant seems to semd wheel signals
that X does not even process ! Any way my M-S48 works fine with :

Hi,
Will there ever be support for Radeon 9700 Pro in XFree? I would be very
happy with just 2d support. To use it with the vesa driver is quite
irritating.

Hehe, ok, I think I'm interpreting this as ATI drivers are coming,
sooner or later. And Michael Dänzer just wrote there will be 2d support
in Xfree 4.3, so I'm very happy :)
Thanks for the great work.

All linux ppc distros report this setup as unsupported with XFree 4.2.x, but XFree86
cvs code seems to support this card on x86. So I build a fresh cvs on

I changed my CRT to LCD, it works well in my redhat

says the refresh rate is recommended set to 60HZ at
1024*768, but XFree86 will automaticly search for the
highest refresh rate possiblely which is 75HZ in my
box.
Can somebody point me the way
