Thanks for all your help. I have successfully tried the Rage 128 version
and the Mach64 version.
The Mach64 version appears to have three problems. I don't know if you
are aware of them so here they are.
1) Switching from X to a tty (CtrlAltFn) results in the X session

How are they related ?
Do the serve the same purpose or every one does its own part ?
( read : do I install one of them or do I combine them ? )
