I'm currently using XF86_SVGA (patched for CyberPro
5005) driver. However, the server is in grayscale
(mono) at my TV output, and 16bit color at my monitor.
Further, the TV output is a little bit bigger than the
real TV screen, so all the 4 sides (top, left, right,
bottom) are over the screen's
hello,
I seem to be having trouble with doing a multiheadon v 4.1.0
I am using a Dell server that has an onboard ATI .. Dell BIOS does
not give me the possibility of choosing the boot time graphics adapter
used... it seems to default on the second installed PCI card (also ATI).
The problem could be in the fact that you are trying to use onboard
chipset. It is likely that the BIOS for it is integrated into the
mainboard BIOS - which is why the driver cannot find it. Perhaps,
if you manage to get the computer to boot with built-in chipset active
and standalone card
Hi,
I see a parameter screenno in the Xinput section of XF86Config file.
What is the meaning of this parameter?. Does anyone know?

Hello Knowledgeable All,
I have an Athlon 1.33 GHz system (ElitGroup K7S5A motherboard, 1024Mb RAM) with the
Radeon VE 64 MB dual VGA + TV-out video card. I am running RedHat 7.1.
It did not work with the Radeon VE card out of the box, so I upgraded the kernel to
2.4.17 and installed a
Am I correct in assuming that the sunffb drivers will not function on
solaris and are linux only? If so (which it appears in the readme), are
there any plans to bring this functionality to Solaris as well? We all
know the Xsun made by sun is terribly slow.

Actually, the XF86 source tree built without a hitch after I set it to
use GCC and what not, however, the only thing it appears to have built
by default is Xsun, XFree86 is not in my bin nor is xf86config or any of
the sunffb drivers. Do I need to do anything special to get these built?
Thanks

This option was added after 4.1. You'll have to

Hello,
I use kde 2.2.2 on top of X 4.1.0 and use kdm as my login client. When X
first runs, the mouse is fine. But after I login to and then logout of
kde, the mouse freezes and the pointer remains in the middle of the
screen. In order to fix this, I have to restart X. Any ideas how to fix
Hello XFree86 list
I have just installed RedHat 7.2 on my machine and cannot get
X to start. I get a no screens found fatal server error
and the following /var/log/XFree86.0.log file. I have an
ATI Xpert 128 card which as far as I can tell is essentially a
ATI Rage 128 card.
Thanks for any help

All I wanted was something simple. I have a touchpad, it's a PITA cause
it only has two buttons. I currently use Option Emulate3Buttons, it
works and makes me hate life cause hitting both buttons is tricky on
this laptop.
So I did something like this:
xmodmap -e keycode 115 = Pointer_Button2
Hello, I am working tring to make XFree86 4.1.0 on a Windows 95 Machine, kind of a
twisted experiment. Anyway, I am looking through the Makefiles, and I see that in the
xc/config/imake/Makefile.ini file under the rules for making imake.exe, the command
line called out begins with cl, in fact
