Hi Anton, There is no need to delete old content or old pages, it is in fact better to keep it. I recommend to just replace the target of links when some content is ready in sphinx or elsewhere (see e.g. NEWS or Future Plans). If old pages are not linked, the average visitor will not see them (even safer if the first line in old page warns about deprecation and point to newer page) but we can still read them (ok, we can always roll-back and read them, but it is painfull). For instance, I had hard time recently trying to figure out what/why publications have been removed from wiki but couldn't be found in sphinx (about 5 of them). It would have been easier for me to compare sphinx bib with the original wiki page. Full text links were also missing and I got to search them one by one, when I could have just copy/paste the adresses from wiki. For publications line, I think publication target can be replaced by sphinx target and the sphinx link can be removed (I hope it is clear ;-)). For installation, I have no idea, I didn't check what is in sphinx, but I guess the same method applies : unlink wiki page and link sphinx page if there is an equivalent (in fact probably better than equivalent). Don't delete the content, somebody will appreciate to find it one day maybe. Since DOI is really the standard for cross-referencing (it is unique), I think it should be included for articles that have one. Hi,
I started putting some articles to bibtex format (in
doc/publications.bib); the advantage is that they can be cited very
easily in any LaTeX-typed papers and can be also be referenced from
Yade's documentation as well.
The manual conversion is quite boring a work. Therefore I would like to
ask people to put bibtex records of (theirs or not) items at
https://yade-dem.org/wiki/Publications in doc/publications.bib and mark
those that are done with ♠ on the wiki. We might (later) make the list
structured (theses, articles, conference talks etc) as it is now, but it
is not the priority.
Secundo, please everybody UPLOAD FULLTEXT of your articles to the wiki.
This can increase your citations considerably as people will just click
on the link instead of searching journals. I think it is OK
copyright-wise in most cases; if not, you can always upload a pre-print
version, which you dfinitely have the right to do.
In the bibtex file, use url={pdf} for fulltext and alway use
doi={...} as well; that creates link to the publisher's page, which is
also quite convenient.

Hi, it is almost finished in r2315.
Several questions:
1. Two references were not added, what do we do with them?
B. Chareyre „Modélisation du comportement d'ouvrages composites
sol-géosynthétique par éléments discrets - Application aux tranchées
d'ancrage en tête de talus.”. Grenoble University, PhD thesis, 2003 (in
french and using PFC2D, only relevant for those interested in calibration
procedures, quasistaticity or representativity of tests.)
?? J-F. Jerier, B. Harthong, V. Richefeu, B. Chareyre, D. Imbault, F.V
Donze and P. Doremus „ Modelling of high-density compaction of granular
materials by the discrete element method”. International Journal of Solids
and Structures, Powder technology (to be published) 2010.
2. The dates of conferences were lost, as there is no suitable field in
bibtex format, maybe note? Do we need those dates?
3. Syntax, how is it better to leave?
a) year={2009},
b) year = {2009},

Hi,
I started putting some articles to bibtex format (in
doc/publications.bib); the advantage is that they can be cited very
easily in any LaTeX-typed papers and can be also be referenced from
Yade's documentation as well.
The manual conversion is quite boring a work. Therefore I would like to
ask people to put bibtex records of (theirs or not) items at
https://yade-dem.org/wiki/Publications in doc/publications.bib and mark
those that are done with ♠ on the wiki. We might (later) make the list
structured (theses, articles, conference talks etc) as it is now, but it
is not the priority.
Secundo, please everybody UPLOAD FULLTEXT of your articles to the wiki.
This can increase your citations considerably as people will just click
on the link instead of searching journals. I think it is OK
copyright-wise in most cases; if not, you can always upload a pre-print
version, which you dfinitely have the right to do.
In the bibtex file, use url={pdf} for fulltext and alway use
doi={...} as well; that creates link to the publisher's page, which is
also quite convenient.

Anton, many thanks for having done this work!!

For bruno's PhD thesis, I would move it to references instead. The JF
Jerier's article marked with ??, I could not find it on
scholar.google.com and it seems to be identical (except of some details)
with another one.
2. The dates of conferences were lost, as there is no suitable field
in bibtex format, maybe note? Do we need those dates?
year={}, month={}..., day={}
(they will not appear in the sphinx output for now, but I will try to
fix that)
3. Syntax, how is it better to leave?
a) year={2009},
b) year = {2009},
no difference at all.
I will try to figure out how to split references into several sections,
like at the wiki (articles, theses, conference stuff at least); I think
it will be necessary to put the to several files, but that will be fast
now.

I think, you should add it.
Anyway, you can also delete it later from the trunk, if the journal will
against it.

Yes, I was expecting a remark for that. Actually, this article is real and
has been published, so, yes, in a certain way, I need it, but, on the
other hand, a search on google scholar or any other science oriented
research tool does not allow to find it... Only a search inside the
concerned journal leads to this:

I would like to ask the journal before adding the reference to the list,
but maybe I could add this link as a first step?
